Far Cry 4 Plot Details Leak Online
Details regarding Far Cry 4's plot, including the player character's name, have leaked online.
The short plot synopsis, which has since been edited to remove crucial details, appeared briefly on Ubisoft's Uplay site. The linked version you will find here is the Google cached version of the site. The text below is taken form the site and reveals the protagonists name and hints at what sets him on his journey.
Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother's dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.
This morning, Far Cry 4's director clarified a few details about the character you see above. Specifically he said he is not the player character and he is not white. You can read more about that here.
Our Take
This still isn't much to go on, but it at least lays out some plot groundwork for the game. Ajay Ghale's reasons for being in the Himalayas are certainly more noble than those that lead Jason Brody to be on the island in Far Cry 3. Brody was just partying on vacation with some friends when he found himself in the middle of a firefight.
