Far Cry 4 Director Clears Up Two Details About The Game's Box Art

by Kyle Hilliard on May 20, 2014 at 04:13 AM

We don't know much about Far Cry 4 yet, but the game's creative director Alex Hutchinson recently took to twitter to clear up two details about the game's box art.

The Internet has been buzzing about the game's box art since its reveal, trying to figure out who these characters are and what their role is in the story. The Far Cry series has become known for tackling controversial topics and assumptions have been discussed on the featured characters' sexual orientation and race and what that could mean for the game's story. Even with Hutchinson's tweet, much of the game's plot is still a mystery, but now we know – much like Far Cry 3's box art – the featured character will not be the player character.

Our Take
Obviously, it's not fair to make assumptions about a game's content based purely on its cover. I think there might even be a saying about that. But Far Cry has typically been a controversial series with controversial characters and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that these two have some controversial things to say and represent. Hutchinson's tweet seeks to quell at least some of the early Internet rumblings about the game, but we will have to wait until the full game releases to learn all the details.
