Microsoft Reveals 65 More ID@Xbox Developers

by Mike Futter on Feb 27, 2014 at 04:07 AM

In December, Microsoft revealed a partial list of the developers signed onto the ID@Xbox independent publishing program. Today, a long list of additional studios has been made available.

Among the list of 65 studios (selected from over 200 ID@Xbox participants) are Compulsion Games (Contrast), Mediatonic (Foul Play), Neocore Games (The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing), Playdead (Limbo), and Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance). Two of the first ID@Xbox games were recently revealed to be Nutjitsu from Ninjabee and Worms Battlegrounds from Team17.

You can check out the full list here. For more on ID@Xbox, you can read our recent coverage and watch a video interview with program leader Chris Charla.

Our Take
This is an extensive list, but I’d like to know more about the games on the near horizon. Sony’s indie machine is well-oiled, and while I expect that things will even out a bit down the road, Microsoft needs some indies to get their games out there soon.
