Ubisoft Opening Up Two New Studios

by Matthew Kato on Apr 19, 2017 at 09:40 AM

Ubisoft is opening up two new development studios to help with the company's "new AAA games for some of [its] biggest franchises."

One studio is in Bordeaux, France, and the other in Berlin, and between the two of them they should have 100 people working by the end of their first year.

According to gamesindustry.biz, Ubisoft Bordeaux will work with new games from Ubisoft's French studios (Just Dance, Steep, and Ghost Recon Wildlands), while Berlin assists with Ubisoft's two Blue Byte studios (Anno and The Settlers) in Dusseldorf and Mainz, Germany.

Our Take
We don't know in what manner these studios will help these new games, whether it be taking charge of a particular mode or service, and Ubisoft has also repeatedly said it wants to support titles longer after launch. So there should be plenty of work to go around.
