Reader Discussion – Did You Pick Up The NES Classic Edition Today?

Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. Today Nintendo launched its NES Classic Edition. The compact, plug-and-play console includes 30 classic games and costs $60. We had a few issues with it, but can't deny the appeal of revisiting the console's glory days. You can read more in our review here.

Nostalgia seems to be driving people to pick up the cute, smaller console, but we've also seem a fair share of people struggling to get their hands on it with it selling out quickly. Amazon held a first-come-first serve policy that started earlier today and sold out. Retailer websites, such as Best Buy, GameStop [Disclosure: GameStop owns Game Informer], and Target are also listing the console as out of stock, and people who obtained one are rushing to eBay to sell them for huge profits (many are listed anywhere from $300 - $1,000).

Naturally, people took to social media to show their disappointment:

So we're wondering, were you able to get your hands on an NES Classic Edition? What are your thoughts so far? Should people be doing everything in their power to get one? Let us know in the comments below.
