Blade & Soul Enters Closed Beta In October

by Mike Futter on Sep 09, 2015 at 05:25 AM

NCSOFT has announced that its next MMO, Blade & Soul, will be entering closed beta in October. Those that purchased founder’s packs will have access immediately, as the developer tests the game throughout the fall.

For everyone else, sign-ups are available on the NCSOFT website. If you’re not sure if you’re interested, there will be a live stream today at 10 a.m. Pacific on the official Blade & Soul Twitch channel

Blade & Soul will have at least five test weekends totaling a minimum of twenty days. Full release for the free-to-play game is planned for early 2016. Closed beta begins on October 30 in North America.

Our Take
I had the chance to play Blade & Soul at PAX recently, and it’s more action-oriented approach gives it a different feel than some of the more traditional offerings in the MMO space. NCSOFT isn’t just localizing it in terms of language. It’s making edits to the core game to fit with Western expectations.
