Update: EA Confirms Reported NHL 16 Feature Set

by Matt Bertz on May 19, 2015 at 04:35 AM

Update: The official EA website just went live, and it proves this leak to be true. The game is only slated to come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can see the full list of features here.

Original Story: Rumors are circulating around the internet today about the NHL 16 feature set based on an alleged leak from the EA Sports website that spills the back of the box list of improvements.

Included in these rumors is the anticipated return of the EASHL and other features from past games like simming between shifts in the Be A Pro mode that were left on the cutting room floor for the disappointing NHL 15. Here is the screen grab of the alleged website snafu.

We've reached out to EA Sports for comment, and will corroborate or dispute the information when they get back to us.

Our Take
I always take these "leaks" with a grain of salt, but this one certainly seems plausible. Only EA would try to turn something like players properly receiving passes into a touted feature. I doubt the series returns to prominence in one year, but if implemented well many of these features would go a long way toward making the only NHL game in town a game worth playing.
