Ubisoft Slams On The Crew’s Brakes, Delays Game Until December

by Mike Futter on Oct 06, 2014 at 06:12 AM

Ubisoft has announced a delay for its social racing title, The Crew. The title was slated for a November 11 release, but will now speed into stores on December 2.

“We received a lot of valuable information from the recent PC and console betas,” creative director Julian Gerighty writes. “We are now scrutinizing all of the player feedback so we can ensure that The Crew delivers the seamless open-world experience that meets everyone’s high expectations.”

This moves The Crew off an already busy day for Ubisoft, with both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Rogue arriving on November 11. On November 18, the publisher has plans to release Far Cry 4.

Our Take
Whether for polish or business, this is a smart move for Ubisoft. The fall season is crowded, and The Crew is up against both Forza Horizon 2 and Driveclub. Giving it the best chance away from other Ubisoft titles that might canibalize its sales is also a wise call.
