These Destiny Achievements Came From Bungie, And So Did Updated Voice Over Work

by Mike Futter on Jun 27, 2014 at 03:23 PM

In the latest Bungie mailbag, the Destiny team has shared some interesting stats for the upcoming massive online shooter. Among the details? The achievements and trophies you can earn while playing once the game is out this September.

The awards include going on raids (and doing so with clan members), fully upgrading a subclass for Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, and upgrading (or dismantling) weapons. There are PvP achievements and trophies, so if you want to get your Platinum, you’ll need to take the fight to your fellow guardians.

For those of you who don’t find the humor in the Peter Dinklage’s voiceover work from the alpha, you’ll be happy to know that the beta will treat you to a new version. It will again be tweaked for the September 9 release.

Also, in case you were worried about letting your young ones play Destiny, you’ll be happy to know it’s rated T (for Teen). Sure, you shoot guns and throw grenades, but you probably won’t hear any f-bombs dropping or see gore. Heck, when you die, your ghost just hovers there waiting for a teammate to revive you.

Destiny will be out on September 9 for PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The beta will begin first on PlayStation platforms on July 17, with Xbox platforms following soon after. For more, check out our breakdown of stats from the alpha and our Test Chamber showcasing gameplay.

Our Take
First, no. I will not stop cracking the moon wizard joke. You’re stuck with it and me. In fact, if you want one of the alpha shirts, you’d best order one now. They are getting removed from the store soon.

Second, the achievement/trophy list looks completely attainable just through playing. There don’t seem to be any wacky unlocks that will force you to change the way you play… except for the one that asks you to get a Grimoire score of 777. This is tied to the cards that you might have seen mentioned in pop-ups during the alpha.
