Report: Microsoft Offering Free Xbox Live Gold To Those Affected By March 11 Outage

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 04, 2014 at 04:57 AM

Xbox Live experienced connectivity issues March 11, and Microsoft is offering a free week of Xbox Live Gold to those affected by the outage.

Messages are currently going out to users reading "We know you experienced an issue signing in on your Xbox One on 3/11/14. We apologize and will soon give you 7 days of Xbox Live Gold for your inconvenience."

March 11 marked the release date of Titanfall. The assumption is that Xbox Live buckled under the weight of those attempting to connect and play, but Microsoft said it was related to a sign-in issue.

Our Take
It's nice of Microsoft to offer a week of gold, especially since the outage only lasted a day. It's unclear who exactly will receive the extra time, but hopefully it is everyone who had problems getting into Titanfall on that day.
