Steam Holiday Sale Day 9: Hitmen, Hobbits, And Hairdos

by Mike Futter on Dec 27, 2013 at 06:40 AM

After suffering some downtime earlier this week due to a game giveaway, Steam is trucking right along with the sales. Today offers a mix of recent AAA titles and indie gems.

  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag - $44.99 (Regularly $59.99)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops II - $29.99 (Regularly $59.99)
  • Don’t Starve - $5.09 (Regularly $14.99)
  • Hitman: Absolution - $4.99 (Regularly $24.99)
  • Lego Lord of the Rings - $7.49 (Regularly $29.99)
  • Orcs Must Die 2 - $3.74 (Regularly $14.99)
  • Portal 2 - $4.99 (Regularly $19.99)
  • Prison Architect - $14.99 (Regularly $29.99)
  • Resident Evil 6 - $11.99 (Regularly $39.99)

Additionally, all of yesterday’s deals are still in effect for another 24 hours. The flash sales turn over every eight hours, as does the community vote.

Our Take
If you somehow missed out on Portal 2 when it came out, it’s absolutely worth the $5 investment. Another good use of a Lincoln is Don’t Starve, which comes from versatile Canadian studio Klei (Shank, Mark of the Ninja).

Be sure to also check out the first batch of flash sales, as Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is also just a hair over $5. If RPGs are more your style, you can put that same $5 to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind instead.
