Microsoft Offering Free Download To Users With Faulty Xbox Ones

by Mike Futter on Nov 26, 2013 at 05:10 AM

The Xbox One is out worldwide, and some users are reporting faulty disc drives. There’s a more “assertive” way to fix the problem, but you're better off filing a request for a repair or replacement.

Microsoft has told Polygon that it will be offering a selection of digital titles. The included titles are Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Zoo Tycoon. "While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game," Microsoft said.

The company told us earlier in the week that it would be taking care of its customers. The free title offer and speedy replacements are how it will be fulfilling that promise.

Our Take
If you’re unlucky enough to have a broken Xbox One, these are good options. If you’ve got family, Zoo Tycoon looks adorable. Forza 5's presentation is stellar. Dead Rising 3 makes smart advances for the series by relaxing the time limit, allowing saves anywhere, and giving players the option to combine weapons on the fly. It’s unfortunate that you’ve got a broken console, but here’s hoping one of these four titles can ease your mind.
