Weekend Warrior 04/29/11

by Annette Gonzalez on Apr 29, 2011 at 02:00 PM

Find out what games we're playing then share your weekend plans in the comments section!

Jeff C: My folks are visiting, so I’ll probably make them watch me play Mortal Kombat. They were never into video games, so this should seal the deal. Or we’ll end up playing a bunch of casual-friendly minigame collections. I haven’t yet made up my mind. Possibilities!

Joe: With the co-op and single-player campaigns of Portal 2 complete, my gaming time this weekend will be spent returning to Mortal Kombat. I’m pretty pumped, because I loved Mortal Kombat II back in the day, but haven’t really touched the series since. Unfortunately, I got the PS3 version (for Kratos), so it looks I’m stuck with offline matches only. Sony had better make this up to us big time.

Bryan: I’m finally going to take down the last five test rooms in Portal 2 co-op and then I might go back through single-player to look for hidden crap.

Tim: I’m freight-training through Final Fantasy X for fun. It’s been on my to-do list forever, and I’m finally getting it done. I’ve got about 16 hours under my belt and I plan to chip away a good few more this weekend. I’d love to get some more The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks in there, but FFX is definitely taking priority.

Dan: I’m handling weekend news, so I’ll be keeping an eye on various goings-on over the next couple of days. Outside of that, I’ll probably drink a bunch of beer and play a bunch of video games.

Annette: Working my way through Portal 2. Just a few chapters in and I'm already in love. Once I finish the single-player campaign I'll hopefully start and finish Outland. I've heard nothing but great things.

Jeff M: This weekend I plan on finally trying out Portal 2 co-op with my brother. I look forward to the heated arguments we’ll have as we blame each other in an attempt to mask our own stupidity. I’ll also spend more time competing in the new Pinball FX 2 tournament on the Mars table, which will probably result in me watching Total Recall for the billionth time. Finally, I plan to play a little Harvest Moon – in real life. I ordered some raspberry bushes, which I’m going to plant in my garden. If that’s funny to you, we’ll see who’s laughing at the end of summer (hint: it will be the person eating obscene amounts of raspberries).

Phil: I’m going to spend the weekend dungeon diving in Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls for PSN, which I’m checking out for an upcoming review. Whenever I need a break from the old-school gameplay, I’m going to continue my slow progress in Crysis 2, which I really need to get moving on. ADVENTURE!

Ben Hanson: This weekend I will most likely start my second playthrough of Portal 2, turns out that game is good. I will also be continuing my iPhone adventure through the land of Sword and Sworcery. I’ve taken a bit of a break from my first playthrough of Bowser’s Inside Story for the DS, but I’m really looking forward to playing more of that as well. Oh, and I almost forgot about the fourth episode of Back to the Future. I’ve loved each entry thus far and I will most likely blast through the latest release on Sunday afternoon. Enjoy your weekend!

That's it for us! What are you playing this weekend?
