Do You Remember Your First PlayStation Experience?

by Tim Turi on Sep 09, 2010 at 12:01 PM

Fifteen years ago the first PlayStation video game console was unleashed upon gamers. Whether you call it the PSone, PSX, or PlayStation, on this thing is for certain – the impact it made on gamers accustomed to 16-bit graphics and blowing on cartridges. From Twisted Metal to Resident Evil to Metal Gear Solid, Sony’s first console raised the bar. We want to know your earliest PlayStation memories.

Let me get the ball rolling. I still get chills down my spine when I hear the boot up sounds for the PlayStation. This is likely because my earliest memory involves watching my cousin play the first Resident Evil in the dark when I was 11. Leaping hunter attacks and surprise zombie bites made me afraid to even touch the PlayStation when I was alone. Throw in some 2-player co-op in the Hong Kong level of Twisted Metal 2, and you’ve got my earliest PlayStation memories.

So… what was your earliest PlayStation experience?
