Red Dead Redemption Scoring Free Post-Launch DLC

by Jeff Cork on May 05, 2010 at 04:16 AM

With a wide-open prairie to explore and loads of multiplayer options to check out, you probably won’t see everything that Red Dead Redemption has to offer in a few short weeks. That’s not stopping Rockstar Games from announcing its post-launch plans for the game, including free multiplayer DLC. The Outlaws to the End Co-op Mission Pack includes six new co-op missions for 2-4 players. Here’s a little taste of what Rockstar says cowboys and outlaws can expect to see when it’s released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store in June:

“Walton’s Gold”
Walton’s Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can – Walton’s boys have rigged the place to blow!

“The River”
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

“Ammunition”

The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun, and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

Rockstar adds that additional info on the remaining missions will be revealed soon. Players will earn extra multiplayer XP rewards in the mission pack, as well as new achievements and trophies. The company says that two more DLC packs are coming out over the course of the summer, though details on the content and pricing aren’t yet available.
