The Behemoth's Third Game Named And Explained

by Joe Juba on Feb 02, 2010 at 10:30 AM

The Behemoth, the developer behind the Xbox Live Arcade hits Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, has revealed that its third project will be called BattleBlock Theater.

According to a post on the company's dev blog and the game's official trailer, BattleBlock Theater sees players shipwrecked on an island and forced to participate in gruesome contests presented as plays. The multiplayer battles appear to involve an array of environmental hazards and devious tools, which should result in plenty of fast-paced mayhem when the game hits later this year.

As a side note, in addition to revealing 2010 as the release year for BattleBlock Theater, the timeline on The Behemoth's front page also teases a fourth game in development. Check out the lone half-G under 2011, which could coincidentally begin the phrase "Game 4 Is Announced":

"Behemoth will eventually make another game" doesn't exactly rate as an earth-shattering reveal, but it is still exciting news for those of us who are big fans of the studio's games.
