Friday Rock Recs: RavenEye – "Hero"
With this week's Friday Rock Rec, I want to highlight a band I discovered last year that is just releasing its lead single from its debut LP this week. I found RavenEye when they were opening for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators last year. I was instantly attracted to their on-stage energy and their heavy, blues-rock sound, so I jotted down the name to see what they've put out there after the show.
Immediately following that concert, I purchased the band's only music on iTunes, a debut five-song collection called Breaking Out. While I enjoyed that EP, I was more excited to see what the band could do with a full LP. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long, as RavenEye recently announced that its premiere LP, Nova, will be hitting this September. The lead single, "Hero" was released this week and I think I already like it more than any song on Breaking Out. You can check out "Hero" for yourself below.
