Tales Of Arise Lord Balseph Boss Fight – New Gameplay Today

by John Carson on Aug 10, 2021 at 11:34 AM

With the release of Tales of Arise fast approaching, there’s plenty of RPG goodness on the horizon. If you’ve already read Kimberly Wallace’s sprawling coverage of Arise in the latest issue of Game Informer Magazine, then lend us your eyes and ears for 15 minutes of gameplay footage captured from the first chapter of the game.

In this edition of New Gameplay Today, Alex Van Aken, Kim Wallace, and John Carson venture into the fiery caverns of the opening chapter to Tales of Arise, which culminates with a huge boss fight against the imposing Lord Balseph. We get a great look at combat, choices to be made while exploring dungeons, and how choosing Titles for each character can affect their playstyle.

Tales of Arise is Bandai Namco’s latest entry in the long-running Tales series. This new adventure brings a more realistic look to the series while still maintaining a beautiful anime aesthetic. Arise follows the exploits of Alphen, a warrior from the planet of Dahna who’s unable to feel pain, and Shionne, a rifle-wielding woman from the planet Rena who causes pain to anyone who touches her. Through the story, players will learn about the relationship and history between these two worlds.

Tales of Arise hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 10. If you want to know more about Tales of Arise, check out Kim’s highlights from its first chapter, and of course, read our coverage in the RPG issue of Game Informer Magazine!
