A Look At Star Wars Celebration's Popular Collectible Pins

If you attend this year's Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, FL, don't be surprised if you are approached by random people asking if you have pins to trade. Star Wars Celebration's pin trading program is one of the show's most popular activities, and with 40 new pins to collect this year, it'll likely be a madhouse. Lucasfilm contracted artist Derek Laufman to design one pin for each year of Star Wars' 40-year history. That means every generation of Star Wars is covered, from A New Hope to Rebels.

Six pins were made available for pre-order in March. The Luke and Yoda and R2-D2 and C-3PO two-packs sold out immediately, but supplies of Admiral Ackbar and Lando are still available. Once purchased, the pins can only be picked up at the show.

To obtain the other pins, showgoers will have to hunt them down. Some pins are exhibitor exclusives, meaning you'll have to go to each booth to see who has them. Others can only be obtained by trading with Star Wars Celebration staff members. The final batch is available in the Celebration store, which often draws hour-plus-long lines.
