Warzone Firefight Update For Halo 5: Guardians Lands On June 29

by AJ Moser on Jun 23, 2016 at 08:22 AM

After extensive teasing and updates following a multiplayer beta, the Warzone Firefight expansion for Halo 5: Guardians finally has a release date. Additionally, any Xbox Live gold user will be able to download Halo 5: Guardians from June 29 to July 5 and test out the game's most substantial update since launch.

Firefight is a fan-favorite game mode introduced in Halo 3: ODST that was originally absent from Halo 5: Guardians. It is now coming to the game in the form of a new multiplayer mode, incorporating the competitive elements of Warzone. Players will fight through increasingly difficult waves of enemies and bosses, including the comically large new Grunt Goblin. A number of new REQ items, including armor sets and weapon skins, are included in the update.

Check out this full breakdown of all the new content dropping next week:

A Score Attack mode is also being added for the game's campaign, allowing players to compete for kills and objectives while playing through the story. In addition to the free trial of the full game running next week, Halo 5: Guardians will be discounted by 50% on the Xbox Store for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
