Cooperative Warzone Firefight Mode Coming To Halo 5

by Mike Futter on Feb 24, 2016 at 06:41 AM

More free add-on maps and modes are coming to Halo 5. Today sees the release of the Hammer Storm update, with a tease of what’s to come later in the year.

Hammer Storm include three new modes. Grifball is the sport of the future, with gravity hammers instead of hockey sticks. Fiesta keeps players guessing, with random weapons. Assault has been retuned for Halo 5: Guardians, making its return in this update.

There’s also a new map, Torque, which is symmetrical. This makes it perfect for capture the flag and assault. In addition to the gravity hammer, the overpowered pistol from Halo: Combat Evolved has been added in.

There are also new Reqs and Forge features. But what might have you most excited is what 343 has teased for the future.

Warzone mode has been part of Halo 5 since the beginning. Using Req cards to give yourself a powerful weapon or boost allows players to adapt to enemy and AI tactics. Coming later this year, 343 is blending it with the Firefight cooperative mode.

We don’t have many details about Warzone Firefight yet. If you have a bunch of Req cards sitting in your inventory, you might find some use for them when this mode launches.
