Sony To Stream Paris Games Week Press Conference On October 27

by Mike Futter on Oct 22, 2015 at 03:31 AM

Sony has announced plans to stream its Paris Games Week press conference next week. The event will be held on October 27 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern.

This is Sony’s first major Western event since E3. The publisher skipped Gamescom to put some distance between significant announcements.

Earlier in the year, Sony’s Andrew House admitted that the company’s holiday lineup of first-party titles isn’t as robust as it has been in years past. “Our first party lineup is a little sparse this year, so I think this places even greater emphasis on getting good third-party support," House said.

You can watch the press conference on Sony’s Twitch channel. It will be available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Sony cautions that this show is focused primarily on European gamers and, therefore, all announcements might not apply to North America.

Update: Sony has updated the time of its press conference due to a time zone conversion error. We have updated this story to reflect the correct start time.

Our Take
While I’m eager to see more of The Last Guardian and Uncharted 4, Sony needs to stack the deck with new announcements. It’s time to start seeing something new from more of those first-party studios.
