Free-To-Play Transformers-Style MOBA Airmech Arena Available Now On Xbox One

by Mike Futter on May 12, 2015 at 05:43 AM

Airmech Arena, a MOBA-style game with heavier RTS elements and transforming heroes, is now available on Xbox One. The title began its life on PC, before making its way to Xbox 360 via publisher Ubisoft.

Carbon Games’ title features different aircraft, each of which can carry smaller autonomous units generated at friendly bases. They can also get into air combat in vehicle mode and transform to take on land-bound troops.

The title is free-to-play with cosmetic items, additional minion units, and defensive emplacements available to purchase (via in-game and real money currency) to create an ideal loadout. For more, you can read impressions of the Xbox 360 version

You can also check out screenshots of the new-gen version. Carbon and Ubisoft snuck the release onto PlayStation 4 last week.

Note: This story originally stated that the PlayStation 4 version was still coming. The story has been corrected to reflect it was released last week.

Our Take
Airmech Arena has some heavier RTS elements than many other MOBAs. Between that and my adoration of anything resembling a Transformer, this one remains one of my favorite in the genre. I’m looking forward to playing it again on Xbox One.
