Weekend Warrior 11/14/2014

by Sam Stewart on Nov 14, 2014 at 01:00 PM

While some editors are jumping into new titles like Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity, others are still exploring the worlds of Shadow of Mordor and Destiny. If you are a Mario Kart 8 fan don't forget that the first DLC pack was released yesterday, featuring all new characters like Link from the Legend of Zelda. What are your gaming plans for this weekend?

Matt Kato: Plan to play as much Assassin's Creed Unity as I can. Still into Alien: Isolation, and the two of these should dovetail nicely. I find that I can't play Isolation for long stretches since I simply get too tense doing so.

Jeff M: I’ve set aside Shadow of Mordor for a while in order to tackle Advanced Warfare’s campaign, but I’d like to get back to slaying warchiefs as soon as possible. I also want to start Unity at some point, before I tackle the upcoming holy trinity of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4, and GTA V. There aren’t enough hours in the weekend…

Andrew Reiner: Now that my Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham review is complete, I can focus on my holiday game stack, starting with Far Cry 4. I also hope to finish up The Evil Within this weekend. I have three levels to go in that one. TV show watching: Agents of Shield, Arrow, and Sherlock.

Sam Stewart: I’m actually going to be out of town this weekend visiting home, but I’m taking my Wii U and will hopefully find some time to play the new Mario Kart 8 DLC. Mute City and Hyrule Circuit sound like great new tracks, and I can’t wait to race through them as Link with his Master Cycle. I’ll also be taking my 3DS with Smash Bros. so I can challenge my friends back home.

Matt Stolpe: Earlier today I scored myself a white PS4 sans Destiny in a pretty frugal Craigslist deal. To celebrate finally entering the new-gen, I’m cancelling all of my productive activities for the weekend (i.e. eating, sleeping, calling loved ones, breathing) and playing games all weekend. I played a bit of Jason’s copy of Evil Withing, and now I’m hooked, but I’m also looking for some PSN gems to play too. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Jason Dafnis: This weekend will find me playing as much Sunset Overdrive as I can stand (that Craigslisted/eBayed Xbox One works perfectly, by the way), probably whipping up another confection to bring to the office, and cryin’ into my hot chocolate ‘n’ mallows because Sam’s going home for the weekend. I’m almost done with the first season of Orphan Black, which you should at least check out if you haven’t already, and will likely find the time to cap that off, too. Over and out.
