Hello Games Offices Suffer Flood On Christmas Eve

by Mike Futter on Dec 25, 2013 at 12:36 AM

Last night, Hello Games tweeted that it had suffered a flood at its Guildford, UK office. No one was hurt, according to the studio, but the property, office equipment and PCs, and personal affects have been lost.

The flood was apparently caused by a river breaking through its banks. According to the studio’s Twitter account, the massive amount of flooding waters came through the windows.

Hello Games is coming off a banner month, having taken VGX by storm with the trailer for procedural space exploration title No Man’s Sky. The studio also announced a new Joe Danger title for iOS.

“We've lost most things - PCs, monitors, furniture, a door, a wall,” the small studio shared via its Twitter account. “You'd think the massive water cooled mega PC would be ok? It was not :(“

The Hello Games team is now with out an office or equipment on which to work, and it’s not yet clear how severely the development of No Man’s Sky has been impacted. “We're taking stock today, but already I know we'll come back stronger :) - all we'll need is a place to work and a machine to work on :)”
