Payday 2's safehouse is a literal safe house, in the sense that the police won't shoot at you while inside, but it's also a training ground and a money vault.
You can practice tactics, display your heist rewards, and hopefully swim around in your money like Scrooge McDuck. That might have to be future DLC, though.
