Capcom Brings Street Fighter 1, 2, 3, And Alpha To Modern Consoles, Steam In One Collection

by Suriel Vazquez on Dec 10, 2017 at 05:07 PM

Capcom started off its yearly Capcom Cup tournament with a bang, announcing something fans have wanted for a long time: A Collection of pretty much every major Street Fighter game save for Street Fighter IV and V.

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection includes 12 games, which might sound weird since there aren't that many numbered Street Fighter titles. But the various versions of II, III, and all three Alpha games (whose entries are more distinct than the later two subseries). The games included are:

  • Street Fighter
  • Street Fighter II
  • Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
  • Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Street Fighter Alpha
  • Street Fighter Alpha 2
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3
  • Street Fighter III
  • Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
  • Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

Online play will also be included for Hyper Fighting, Turbo, Alpha 3, and 3rd Strike. The collection also promises "Arcade Perfect" gamplay, Image Galleries, Interactive Timeline concept art, a music archive, and sprite viewers for every game. The collection is due to hit in May 2018.

Our Take
It's a bit unfortunate for this to be releasing about a year after the $40 Switch version of Street Fighter II did, but I'm still excited about the prospect of not only having every Street Fighter fighter game, but every version of every Street Fighter game on one disc.
