Thimbleweed Park's Content Update Adds Hints, New Dialogue

by Douglas DeLong on Jun 22, 2017 at 03:12 PM

Thimbleweed Park is getting a big content update, and just in time for the Steam Summer Sale.

The first big addition is a callback to the good old days, when we had to call help lines when we were confounded by ridiculous adventure-game puzzles. Now, from any phone in the game, you can dial 4468 (HINT) to get a little tip from the HintTron 3000™ about how to proceed.

Many fans of the first game thought it would have been fun if there were more conversations between the main characters when they were on the same screen together. The developers agreed, and they had the lead actors come back to record some more amusing dialogue. Now you'll be able to talk to any of the living main characters.

The update is available now on Steam (where the game is now 20-percent off), and will be added to the Xbox version shortly. Android and iOS versions of the game are expected to be released later this summer.

You can read more about the new additions in a blog post from Ron Gilbert himself.

Our Take:
Thimbleweed Park was a fun throwback to classic adventure games, and these new additions add to the fun. If you're looking to scratch an adventure-game itch, I'd highly recommend it.
