Report: Bayonetta Steam Update Likely Points To Vanquish PC Port

by Kimberley Wallace on Apr 24, 2017 at 12:40 PM

A Bayonetta update that hit Steam today has caused speculation about Platinum Games' Vanquish making its way to PC. The small update contained an avatar of Vanquish's protagonist Sam Gideon hidden away in the "extras" folder.

Sega has used Steam to tease its PC ports before. As seen with Bayonetta, it put an 8-bit version of the game on Steam, leading to a countdown, which later confirmed a PC port.

Vanquish, a fast-paced third-person shooter created by Shinji Mikami, previously released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Sega has yet to make an official announcement for a PC version, but we've reached out for comment and will update the story should we hear back.

Our Take
It's great that more games are making their way to PC. This seems likely given that other games from Sega are making their way to PC. I never played Vanquish when it launched, but as a Shinji Mikami fan, I'm definitely curious, making me interested in checking out a PC port.
