Mario Sports Superstars Combines Five Sports In One Handheld Package

Mario and his pals are feeling athletic again, but their new 3DS outing isn't settling for a single sport.

Announced during today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Mario Sports Superstars pits Nintendo's mascots against each other in five sports: soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, and horse racing.

Unlike other compilation games, Nintendo says these sports haven't been downsized or simplified – for instance, Superstars' rendition of soccer features full-fledged 11-person teams. Nintendo also says every included sport will feature single-player tournaments as well as local and online multiplayer support.

Mario Sports Superstars will launch on Nintendo 3DS next Spring.
