Metal Gear Solid 3 Is Now A Pachislot Machine
When Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima was in the throes of his painful divorce from publisher Konami, gamers feared for the future of the franchise. There were two common refrains from worried fans. That the series would go exclusively mobile was one. The other has come true.
Konami has released a trailer for a new version of Metal Gear Solid 3. Now, one of the most adored entries in the franchise is not getting a current-gen makeover.
It’s becoming a pachislot machine. It follows in the footsteps of Contra and Castlevania before it.
We won’t be seeing this over here in North America, but we can still revel in the trailer. The machine will be out this fall.
This doesn’t mean that Metal Gear won’t be coming back in a meaningful way, but it is a bit painful to see the franchise adapted as such.
