Ori And The Blind Forest Physical Release Coming In June

by Mike Futter on May 23, 2016 at 04:57 AM

If you missed out on Ori and the Blind Forest or loved it so much you want a physical copy on the shelf, Nordic Games and Microsoft are making that happen. Both the Steam and Xbox One editions are getting hard copy versions next month.

On PC, there will be two editions. The standard version is priced at $19.99 and includes a poster and “premium packaging.” For an additional $10, the limited edition includes a Steelbook, soundtrack CD, two posters, and two postcards.

The two PC editions and an Xbox One version (which doesn’t appear to have any of the pack-ins) will arrive on June 14. For more, you can check out our review of Ori and the Blind Forest.

Our Take
As digital continues its takeover, retail releases like this serve dual purposes. First, shelf space is still important for the vast consumer base that doesn’t read gaming websites or peruse the online storefronts. Second, for those that love games like Ori, it’s a chance to bring home a collector’s edition after the fact.
