Zen Studios Adding Alien-Themed Tables To Zen Pinball FX2
A fan-focused celebration of the Alien franchise is coming in April, and Zen Studios is on board to contribute to it. The developer will be releasing Aliens vs. Pinball tables as DLC for Zen Pinball FX2 in light of "Alien Day" on April 26.
Zen is partnering with Fox Digital Entertainment to launch three different Alien tables across the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, iTunes and Google Play versions of the game. Zen Studios is known for its previous work in turning licensed properties into virtual pinball, including tables for Star Wars, Marvel, The Walking Dead, and even Archer.
Aliens vs. Pinball will join a host of other commemorative items being released on Alien Day. Ripley's "Reebok Alien Stomper" sneakers, Alien Funko figure sets, a limited edition Loot Crate, and re-releases of the Batman vs. Alien comics are just a few of the things that will be available on April 26.
Our Take
Fox looks like it's pulling out all the stops for this celebration of Alien, which is a very good thing for fans. Zen Studios also makes some quality virtual pinball tables, so this doesn't seem like it will be a cheap licensed cash-in.
