Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Delayed Until May 24
DICE needs some more time to perfect Faith’s origin story. Your return trip to the City of Glass is going to have to wait, as EA has just pushed the game out of its fiscal year.
Previously pegged for a February 23, 2016 launch, DICE is delaying the game until May 24. “We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive city of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be,” writes senior producer Sara Jansson.

While it’s disappointing to see Mirror’s Edge get delayed, there are a couple of reasons this makes sense for EA. First, the company just raised its full-year outlook even accounting for this moving. The shift in fiscal periods won’t drag EA down.
Second, February is utterly packed. Putting Mirror’s Edge in May gives it a bit more breathing room (at least right now). I had a chance to play the most recent demo, and this one seems worth waiting for.
