Nintendo Cuts Price Of 2DS To Under $100, Includes Mario Kart 7
It may not have the fancy new 3D or NFC reader of the New 3DS, but the 2DS is no slouch. If you’ve been looking for an entry point to the 3DS family for you or a family member, Nintendo just sweetened the deal.
The 2DS is dropping in price from $129 to $99. Don’t run out quite yet, though. The wedge-shaped handheld isn’t getting its cut for another 10 days. You’ll be able to get it for the lower price on August 30.
The console is packed with a digital copy of Mario Kart 7. It has access to all of the same online and digital functionality as the 3DS, without the 3D mode. Because it doesn’t close though, you’ll want to make sure you have a way to protect the screens when not in use.
Our Take
While I’m certainly expecting Nintendo price cuts, this wasn’t my first guess. Still, getting more people into the handheld family is smart, especially as the library is extremely compelling for all ages.
