Eric Holmes, creative director on Batman: Arkham Origins and designer on games like Gears of War 3, Protoype, and more, has announced a new position with DICE.

Along with the games mentioned above, Holmes also served as lead designer on The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. He also helped Epic develop the tech behind Unreal Engine 4. Holmes didn't share what he will be working on with DICE, but the studio is known for the Battlefield series, Mirror's Edge, and the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront.

During our coverage of Batman: Arkham Origins, we had a chance to talk with Holmes about his career, which you can check out in the video below.

Our Take
Holmes doesn't have a whole lot of experience with first-person shooters, DICE's bread and butter, but he does know his way around an open world. Because of that, I am putting my money on him being involved with Mirror's Edge 2. EA and DICE have hinted Faith will explore an open world, and much like Mirror's Edge, games like Protoype were focused on player mobility through open environments.
