Daedalic's Silence Adds PlayStation 4 To List Of Platforms

by Brian Shea on Jan 23, 2015 at 11:49 AM

Daedalic Entertainment's upcoming adventure game, Silence, has added PlayStation 4 as the latest console it will be releasing on. Previously, Silence was only slated to release on Xbox One, PC, and Mac, but according to Steffen Boos, Daedalic Entertainment's studio manager, adding PS4 to that list of platforms is an important thing for the company.

"This makes Silence a fully fledged multi-platform project; as for the first time, we can release a game for the high-end current-gen consoles, which is an important cornerstone for the company," Boos says. "We strongly believe that narrative-driven games like ours will be well received among console players."

The story follows Noah, who is searching for his little sister Renie in the midst of a war. In his pursuit, Noah gets lost and finds himself in solitude in Silence, a vast world with no apparent way home and an infestation of creatures that have a tendency to make people disappear. The player must accompany Noah as he searches for a way home while uncovering mysteries surrounding Silence and his sister.

Silence is set to launch in late 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

Our Take:
What we've seen of silence so far has been gorgeous, so the more platforms it releases on, the better. It makes sense that Daedalic would want to make the jump to PlayStation 4 in addition to Xbox One, PC, and Mac due to the popularity of Sony's latest platform. The narrative-heavy style seems like it will be a perfect fit for the current climate in the industry. We'll definitely be keeping our eyes open for more details on Silence.
