More Driveclub Woes As Users Report Problems Downloading New Update

by Mike Futter on Oct 17, 2014 at 06:21 AM

Driveclub’s servers and user experience are still facing trouble 10 days after launch. Evolution Studios rolled out a new patch yesterday, but the developer has acknowledged that users are having trouble downloading it.

The issue is preventing some players from even loading the game. The official Driveclub Twitter offers the following advice for those who cannot download the patch.

“Lots of reports from players having to retry the 1.04 download over & over for it to be successful,” the most recent statement, at 4 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, October 16, says. “Keep retrying. PSN team is investigating.”

According to the Driveclub Facebook page, new servers and server upgrades are being rolled out on an ongoing basis. Face-offs, one of the features that was disabled to ease server stress, will be restored soon.

Evolution also says it is working on getting PlayStation Plus version of the game out as soon as possible, but has no update on the status. We’ve reached out to Sony again for more information on the patch problems and the status of compensation or refunds for customers. We’ll update should we receive a response.
