Amplitude Kickstarter Adds Anamanaguchi, Danny Baranowski And More

by Mike Futter on May 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM

The Amplitude Kickstarter is its final five days, and in an effort to make a strong final push, Harmonix has announced a number of additions to the soundtrack. If you’ve played Super Meat Boy, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, or the original Amplitude, you know some of the newly announced artists.

Joining the project are Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim Saves the World), Danny Baranowski (Super Meat Boy, Canabalt), C418 (Minecraft), Kasson Crooker (FreQuency, Amplitude), Jim Guthrie (Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP), and Freezepop (FreQuency, Amplitude). All of the tracks from these musicians are original for Amplitude.

Harmonix says that this Kickstarter project is probably your only chance to see a new Amplitude title, and it won’t be made if the campaign doesn’t reach the $775,000 funding goal. Right now, funding has reached over $384,000, just shy of 50 percent.

For more on the project, you can check out the Kickstarter campaign. You can also read an interview with creative lead Ryan Lesser.

Our Take
Amplitude is going to need a lot of support in a short amount of time. It’s a shame the campaign was only able to run for 18 days, and that is clearly working against Harmonix. Hope is not lost, though. There’s still time for fans to make it happen.
