New Accessory Allows Keyboard & Mouse, 360 Controller Use On Xbox One
CronusMax, a new accessory, will let you use a keyboard and mouse or an Xbox 360 controller with the Xbox One. If you're particularly daring, it will even let you use Sony controllers.
According to Eurogamer, the CronusMax opens up the Xbox One to use of the DualShock 3, DualShock 4, Wii Pro Controller, keyboard and mouse, and the Xbox 360 controller.
The Team Xecutor say they made the unit to aid those who were attached to a heavily modded 360 controller or preferred a keyboard and mouse configuration.
Correction: Earlier I wrote that this was a "mod" and my colleague Jason Oestreicher informed me that this is not the case. All the software is on the USB dongle itself, nothing installs on the Xbox One system. You just configure it on a PC, then plug it in to "spoof" and Xbox One controller. At that point, any supported controller or peripheral that you set up can be plugged into the Xbox One via the dongle.
[This has been changed, see my correction above.] I don't have many complaints about the way they operate normally. I love the Xbox One controller and prefer it to the Xbox 360's (getting rid of that "battery bump" on the back was a great design choice), so I'll be skipping this. Still, for some of the more competitive FPS players out there, this is an option.
