Aliens: Infestation Rated By ESRB

by Andrew Reiner on Jul 15, 2011 at 05:09 AM

Thanks to a detailed ESRB rating, we now know what to expect from Sega's upcoming Nintendo DS title Aliens: Infestation. Along with a Teen rating and content descriptors for Violence, Mild Language, Blood, and Partial Nudity (yes!), the ESRB summary says Aliens: Infestation is a "sci-fi action platformer in which players control a marine squad on a mission to eradicate alien creatures. As players run and jump through side-scrolling levels, they use rifles, pistols, flamethrowers, and explosives to kill enemy soldiers and aliens."

Now for the good stuff. "Some sequences also depict red blood spurts when human characters are killed (e.g., an alien bursting out of a man's chest; characters getting bitten by aliens). During the course of the game, players can enter a locker room and see a male character whose buttocks are briefly exposed. The words “a*s,” “b*stard,” and “hell” appear in the dialogue."

Aliens: Infestation is believed to be developed by WayForward Studios, and may in fact be the cancelled Aliens Nintendo DS project from 2009. We've contacted Sega for further details, but have yet to hear an official response from the company.
