Bethesda Says New Vegas Has Shipped 5 Million Units
While Fallout: New Vegas his shelves with its fair share of problems, that hasn't seem to have affected its sales prospects. Bethesda has announced that five million copies of the latest game in its Fallout series have shipped since the game's October launch. Between the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC retail versions and digital downloads, the publisher says that New Vegas has paid out more than $300 million for Bethesda.
“We are delighted by the reception Fallout: New Vegas has received from fans around the world,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "Despite the large launch quantities for this title, we have already received substantial re-orders from our retail partners, underscoring the tremendous popularity of this highly entertaining game. We believe Fallout: New Vegas will be the “must buy” title for gamers throughout the holiday season.”
Although we don't know exactly how many these units have been sold yet, New Vegas should continue being a money fountain for the company if past experiences hold true. Fallout 3 was supported by an onslaught of expansions and DLC, and New Vegas will apparently be no different.
