Game Freak's Giga Wrecker Announced For Consoles

by Kimberley Wallace on Jan 18, 2019 at 05:25 PM

Pokémon developer Game Freak and Rising Star Games announced plans for a console port of 2D puzzle/platformer Giga Wrecker, which was previously released on PC in 2017. Up against an army of robots, you play as a girl with a special ability to manipulate debris, destroying and reconstructing her surroundings.

The game will come to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch as Giga Wrecker Alt with new content, such as twenty new campaign puzzles, a new hardcore "Iron Man" mode, and a second non-playable character that offers hints when a player takes too long to find a solution. The original localization is also getting an overhaul to provide a better experience for players.

Right now, Giga Wrecker Alt is scheduled to hit sometime in 2019 for consoles. The game is launching digitally, but Limited Run Games is releasing physical copies for the PS4 and Switch versions.
