Friday Rock Recs: The Temperance Movement – "Take It Back"
This week I'm in sunny San Diego, California checking out all of the nerdy happenings at San Diego Comic-Con. That means I've had more time to listen to and discover great music as I've flown from Minneapolis to San Diego, and as I travel from location to location. Because of that, I want to share a band I'm just now getting into in the past 10 days.
The Temperance Movement just put out their second album last Friday and from the moment I heard the lead track, "Three Bulleits," I was hooked. I bought their new album, White Bear, and listened on repeat for those next couple of days. After realizing the band had their debut album on iTunes as well, I picked that self-titled LP up too.
The soulful blues-rock that The Temperance Movement puts out is exciting when it's fast-paced, and heartbreakingly somber in the best possible way when the group slows things down. The track I've chosen to highlight is probably their biggest tune, which I try to avoid doing, but it's one of their rowdiest rock songs. You can check out the video for "Take It Back" below.
