Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct Coming Tuesday, April 8
Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct focused exclusively on Super Smash Bros. Despite the regular flow of information, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the title.
The most important detail we’re waiting for is the release date. Director Masahiro Sakurai previously expressed frustration about Super Smash Bros. Brawl single player cutscenes appearing online. We’ve been left to wonder what that means for single player content in the new entries.
You can tune in at 3 p.m. Pacific/6 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday April 8.
For more, check out the reveals of Luigi's new, improved final smash, a Lumiose City stage, a new Animal Crossing stage, Diddy Kong, the Mother Brain assist trophy, the Waluigi assist trophy,Lucario, Zelda, the Skull Kid, Marth, Sonic, a redesigned Ray Gun, the 3DS Mii Plaza, and a male Wii Fit trainer.
Our Take
Nintendo would be foolish to miss this opportunity to announce a release date. We know the game won’t be coming this Spring (and certainly not before Mario Kart 8’s May 30 release). I suspect a late summer outing to kick off the fall gaming rush.
