Report: GTA V May Be Getting First-Person Modes On Xbox One, PS4, PC

by Mike Futter on Sep 22, 2014 at 11:36 AM

A since-removed post on the Rockstar Support website points to a new way to play Grand Theft Auto V this fall. Unless the support posting was erroneous, you will be able to experience the game in first-person both on-foot and behind the wheel.

The first-person perspective will allow users to see the interiors of cars, including working instrumentation. The game will also feature a mode for movie-making, new animals, and new easter eggs and random events during the story.

We’ve reached out to Rockstar to confirm whether the removed support posting’s feature listings are accurate. We’ll update should we receive a response.

Grand Theft Auto V is coming to Xbox One and PS4 on November 18. A PC release is slated for January 27.

Our Take
The addition of first-person modes, if well executed (and given that this is Rockstar, chances are good), might be a good reason to bring double-dippers in. Sure, you may have completed the game on Xbox 360 or PS3, but did you do it first-person? That’ll be $60.
