Reader Discussion: How Do You Prefer To Learn About A Game?

by Kyle Hilliard on Jan 10, 2014 at 07:34 AM

Everyday, a new screenshot appears on the official Super Smash Bros. website. Sometimes it reveals a new character or a new item, but often it reveals nothing at all. What do you think of this delivery method of information?

Typically, video games will announce their intentions to release and only surface every few months to offer a dump of information, and then go back into hiding. For Super Smash Bros., Nintendo has opted to offer tiny little details nearly every day with bigger announcements, like character reveals, sprinkled in every now and then.

Do you like learning about the game this way? Would you rather learn a lot of information all at once? Or do you – like me – check the Smash Bros. website every morning as part of your routine, hoping for something cool? Do you wish more games would deliver information this way? Or is it something that really only works with a game like Super Smash Bros.? Let us know in the comments below.
