The lights are on
In honor of Kirby: Triple Deluxe releasing tomorrow for 3DS in Japan (it's coming to North America a little later this year), Nintendo has confirmed that King Dedede will be returning as a fighter in the new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U.
In the Miiverse post that accompanies every daily Smash Bros. image, game director Masahiro Sakurai asks players to pay special attention to Dedede's, "evocative facial expressions," in the new batch of screens, which you can see in the gallery below.
The last returning character confirmed for Super Smash Bros. was Princess Zelda, which you can see here. For more reveals, check out a new look at Dr. Wily's Castle, the Skull Kid, Marth, Sonic, a redesigned Ray Gun, the 3DS Mii Plaza, and the male Wii Fit trainer.

I sure hope he can still throw Waddledees and subsequently swallow them whole!
I'm interested in what new things they're bringing in... or who they're not bringing back. Dedede was a given.
The more screenshots (or lack of) I see for the 3DS version, the more I'm worried that that version is going to be seriously gimped.
I think king Dedede needs a rival counterbalance that isn't Kirby. He should be called Prince Ununun.
King DeDeDe! Awesome, waiting for more new/returning characters and new trailers.
