July Cover Revealed – Anthem
BioWare has been quiet about Anthem for the last year. After a gameplay demo at E3 2017, we didn't get much new information about this cooperative online shooter. What has the developer been doing in that time? We recently had the chance to see for ourselves, visiting BioWare's Edmonton studio and playing Anthem for ourselves. We learned all about the world, how co-op works, and how the team hopes to create a story that never needs to end.
This month we have four amazing covers, and each one highlights a different exosuit (called "javelins" in the game). These customizable suits essentially function as classes, with different abilities and roles to play in combat. See the full cover spreads in the gallery below.
We have more exclusive Anthem coverage on the way later in the month, including interviews with the team at BioWare about topics like storytelling, preparing for post-release support, and other projects that may be in the studio's future.
The July issue has a variety of other in-depth features. We look at Annapurna Interactive (the publisher behind games like Florence, Gorogoa, and What Remains of Edith Finch) and its efforts in the indie space, and we go to Germany and Kuwait to talk to soldiers about how video games fit into their lives. We also interview God of War director Cory Barlog for a post-mortem on one of the year's biggest hits. You can read several other great articles from the issue right now, including one on the Switch-exclusive RPG Octopath Traveler, and our look at Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
Print subscribers can expect their issues to begin arriving in the next few days. The digital edition of this issue launches today for PC/Mac, iOS, Android, and Google Play. You can also get the latest issue through third-party apps on Nook and Kindle starting tomorrow.
