The lights are on
The only gender we've seen for the Super Smash Bros. villager fighter has been the male, but a recent screen from the game shows you will be able to play as the female villager, too.
As with every daily Super Smash Bros. image, director Masahiro Sakurai has offered an accompanying Miiverse post. Sakurai writes, "You can choose to play as the girl villager too!! How lovely." The Wii Fit trainer offers a similar variant.
Super Smash Bros. are on track for a 2014 release for Wii U and 3DS. That guy that's second to the left looks like he wants to kill.
I like how WFT and Villager are unexpected characters with a different gender version for an alt costume. They also contrast each other nicely with Villager having male as his default while WFT's default form is female.
I like how they're doing the PS Allstars thing where alternate costumes are actually different costumes and not just pallet swaps. Hopefully it's like that for every character.
Hmm, this was expected, but it's still cool to see everyone was right on this.
This is a cool idea. Male and Female variations of the Villagers are more compelling and creative than the palette swaps we're used to in Smash Bros.
Im really digging that there will be actual alternate costumes now, instead of just pallet swaps.
I want this game so badly....
This is cool, but why do the female versions have the same hairstyle? I was hoping one of them would have the triple pigtail thing...
